In 2009 Janice Barnes set up Virtual Secretary Services Direct to service a small group of clients. Due to the number of requests she received through word of mouth recommendations from both commercial and private customers, she realised that an opportunity existed to expand the business further.
Since then, through her ethos of providing a personalised service, she has built up a client portfolio stretching across the UK and Ireland and into a number of European countries – her most distant client is based in South America! Distance – location is of no relevance as the bulk of the work is transacted via email but what is important to each client and what they want to know is that there is, if necessary, someone they can speak to and depend on, who believes confidentiality is of the utmost importance and who will deliver a professionally presented, accurate output.
Audio transcription and Typing services make up a large part of our work, but in addition we have a growing number of clients making use of our Admin services. Typing – Items for typing can be scanned and emailed or, if too large, for example a book or manual, can be posted or sent by courier. Microsoft Word documents are returned by email ready for printing or as hard copies by post or courier in the timescale agreed. Our typists proof read their work prior to final checking and return. In addition, we can provide a full proof reading service to review grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Audio Transcription – A digital recording device, such as a smart phone, tablet or a conventional dictaphone, can all be used for sending us files electronically. Our transcription software can deal with most file types including those most commonly used – mp3, mp4, wav, dss, amr, m4a, wma – and many more. Files can be forwarded by email or alternatively, we will send you a link for upload.
Admin Services – Cover tasks such as data input, PowerPoint presentations, arranging meetings, booking accommodation and venues, internet research, data base creation, typing and transcription – all provided on a flexible basis – you can use our services as much or as little as required. Brief us on your requirements and we will provide you with an estimate of the cost which will in most instances be based on an hourly rate.
I started my own company 18 months ago having worked in Global corporations who provided me with a high standard of support that included my own PA and secretarial services.
